What We Do for the Community
Michigan Memorial Walking Club
On April 1st, 2011, Michigan Memorial Park began a new program — a Walking/Jogging Club. This program is for anyone who wants to get fit, stay fit, or would just like to get some fresh air once in a while in a safe environment. Michigan Memorial Park offers three maps to track mileage: 2 mile, 2.5 mile and a 3 mile route. Each route brings walkers/joggers around beautiful places within the park. Incentives and challenges are offered during the year for those who sign up. If you are interested in this walking/jogging club, please stop in the front office for an application. This club is open to everyone who is 18 years of older and there is no fee.

Southgate Rotary has a fishing derby for children with physical impairments each year. It takes place on Sylvan Lake at the main entrance to Michigan Memorial Park. These photos were taken at the fishing derby held on June 5, 2008. It was one of the most successful fishing derbies Southgate Rotary has ever had. A 20" bass was also caught that day by one of the children.
Tucker Auto Club
On June 20, 2008, the International Tucker Automobile Club visited Michigan Memorial Park to pay respect to Mr. Preston Tucker and his family who are laid to rest. The Tucker Family is buried in the Masonic Gardens in block 41. Please visit the front office for a map to go directly to their burial place.
